Robert Allen Monroe, "Bob", 88, of Rincon, Georgia has gone home to be with his Lord, passing away at his home on February 13, 2024.

Bob was born in Olean, New York and lived in Ceres, NY, Cincinnati, OH, and Mt. Dora, FL before moving to Georgia. Bob served in the U.S. Army and was an amazing wood worker, designing and building many items for family and friends, from cedar chests to book cases to nativity scenes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliford and Mary Harmon Monroe, siblings Adelia Monroe Nichols, Llewyan "Sam" Monroe, Evelyn Monroe Montalbo, Richard Monroe, Joyce Monroe Lemmer, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Janice Monroe; his brother Donald Monroe, sons Dennis Monroe (Amy), Philip Monroe (Dr. Donna Woelfel), Gregory Monroe (Margaret Kennedy), Thomas Monroe and Kevin Monroe (Terri); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and newphews.

A memorial service will be held for the immediate family only at Bob and Jan's home; a public memorial service will be held at the Strickland funeral home chapel on a date to be determined.
