Robert G. "Bobby" Rought "Whip-O-Will"
Port Wentworth – Robert G. Rought, born January 1, 1926 passed away December 28, 2015. He would have celebrated his 90th birthday January 1st on earth. God called him home for the largest celebration ever. He will celebrate with Jesus.
He retired from Union Camp with many years of service and continued to fix bicycles at his home and was known as the "Bicycle Man". He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Lillian F. Rought; his first wife, Victoria Kessler Rought; step-mother, Christine Rought; two sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Rought; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rebecca Rought of Rincon; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Marvin Cosnahan of Macon; grandchildren, Paul and Christy Rought, Shannon White all of Rincon, Ricky and Dinah Cosnahan of Lizella, Randy and Danielle Cosnahan of Muzella, David and Danny Laudermilk of Rincon; great-grandchildren, Candance and Dalton Evans of Atlanta, Wesley Cosnahan of Lizella, Hunter and Grace Cosnahan of Muzella, John White of Rincon, Paris and Oliver Laudermilk , Hayden, Nathan, and Journey Rought all of Rincon; his much loved sisters, Naomi Brunson of Darien and Myrtle Grinstead of North Carolina; his step-daughter, Sue Webster. He leaves to cherish his memory several nieces, nephews, and lots of wonderful friends whom he loved very much.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Andy Vault and Mr. Bobby Hanson officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
