Mr. Robert L. Burnsed, Sr., 83, of Guyton, GA passed asway on Friday, May 31,2024 at his home.

Robert was born in Blitchton, GA and spent his formative years growing up in Evans County, graduating from Claxton High School. He lived and raised his 4 boys in Garden City, Georgia before moving to Guyton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Burnsed and Georgia Lee Kerby, siblings Johnny Young, Sally Strickland, Eunice Lynn, Junior Young, George Young, Eugene Young and Gennis Kerby. Robert retired after 33 years of from Atlanta Gas Light Company. He also taught at Savannah Votech for 11 years and was a member of the Garden City Jaycees. After retirement, he founded Burnsed Energy Services and operated it with his son Chris until retiring again at the age of 70. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and was a founding and long time member of Coastal Bass Anglers. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Burnsed; sons Robert L. Burnsed Jr. (Joyce) Randy Burnsed, Chris Burnsed (Cindy) and Brandon Burnsed (Jessica); grandchildren, Robert L. Burnsed III, Brandi Freeman, Cole Burnsed, Chase Burnsed and Blaine Burnsed; great grandsons, Hudson Freeman and Robert L. Burnsed IV, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The graveside funeral and burial will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Westside Memorial Gardens located on Adams Road in Bloomingdale, Georgia.
