Guyton-Mr. Robert "Bob" Daniel Prokop, Sr., 69, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Mr. Prokop was born in Chicago, IL and had lived in Georgia since 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. & Adeline Switalski Prokop and a brother, Edward Prokop, Jr. He was a member of the Faulkville Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Air Force while stationed at Hunter Army Air Field. He retired from GA Pacific after 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, M. Brenda Fountain Prokop; two sons, Robert D. Prokop, Jr. (Karen) and Christopher A. Prokop (Lorna); 8 grandchildren, Brittany Prokop, Matthew Prokop, Jessica Prokop Wagner (Corey) of Spokane, WA, Tyler Prokop, Annalee Prokop, Guy Prokop, Karli Kozee and Trent Kozee; sister, Carolyn Prokop Powless of Johns Island, SC and a brother, Wayne Prokop of Atlanta.
The visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Prokop's life was at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Albert Hill officiating. Pallbearers were Johnnie Holmes, Inman Lanier, Gerald Fountain, Randy Roden, Joshua Hill and Eddie Fountain. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
