Robert Bruce Hallisey

Springfield- Robert B. Hallisey, 81, on November 3, 2018 was reunited for eternity with the love of his life, his wife, Patricia Evans Hallisey.

The Lenexa, Kansas native honorably served in the United States Navy from 1957 – 1977, achieving the rank of Senior Chief petty Officer, Interior Communications. He served on many tours at sea, including several years in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy with Honors, which included many achievements and citations.

Soon after retiring, the family moved to Georgia to be with the first grandchild, Richard Newell, III. Robert worked for the state prison system in Springfield, Georgia as a Deputy Warden for many years before eventually retiring.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Hallisey; brother, Michael Hallisey; and sons, Daniel Allen and James Hallisey.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Newell, II (Michael) and John Hallisey (Pat); his daughter, Sandra Hallisey Williford (Bryant); sisters, Joyce Hallisey Minor and Nancy Hallisey Wilson; grandchildren, Richard Newell, III, Gilford Newell, Nathaniel Newell, Jacob Newell, Jonathon Hallisey, Daniel Hallisey, Trisha Hallisey Hammock, Rebecca Hallisey Wellman, Jessica Williford Shea, and Bryant Williford, II; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service: 11 am Friday, November 9, 2018 in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
