Robert "Darrell" Lindsey Jr., age 61, passed on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Darrell was born October 17, 1963, in Savannah, GA. He grew up on Talahi Island and graduated from Sol C Johnson High School in 1982. Darrell's dedicated 40-year career at Stone Container (now International Paper) in Port Wentworth included multiple positions and countless friendships throughout the years.

Darrell was an adrenaline junkie from a young age, and his interests throughout his life reflected that. These included his love of hot rods, motorcycles, and NHRA drag racing. Life wasn't always a need for speed though. His family and friends will always remember him as a loyal, thoughtful, and kind-hearted person that could always make you laugh without really trying. Darrell truly loved spending time on the family "farm" tending to the many animals and projects that came with it. He was known far and wide for his ability to fix or build just about anything. He shone a light on every person he met and made sure all were welcome at his home. Above all else Darrell loved his wife, Lisa, of 39 years and his children, Daniel and Jennifer, the most. His love of all things that go and an unforgettable kindness will forever be cherished by all that knew him.

Darrell is preceded in death by his lifelong friend, Brian McCarthy. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Lindsey; son, Daniel Lindsey (Hilary); daughter, Jennifer Lindsey; and granddaughter, Eliza. His parents, Robert and Priscilla Lindsey; sisters, BobbieJean Hammesfahr and Cindy Mantele as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Highway 80 Pooler, GA 31322. The graveside funeral and burial to honor Darrell's life will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Rd. Savannah, GA 31404.
