Mr. Robert Wells Roan
Savannah-Mr. Robert Wells Roan, 69, died on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Hospice
Savannah.
Mr. Roan was born in LaGrange and grew up in Fitzgerald, GA. He graduated from
Fitzgerald High School and from South Georgia College in Douglas, GA. He moved to
Savannah in 1967 and worked with the Carlton Company, retiring as Manager in 1995.
Mr. Roan was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Roan Bradley, who died on
December 20, 1990.
Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Eleanor Pate Roan of Savannah; son, Scott &
Tammy Roan of Springfield, MO and Scott & Teresa Bradley of Folkston, GA; brother,
Ray Roan & wife, Wylene of Fairfax, VA; sister, Betty Roan Smith & husband, Patrick
of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Roan, Jenna Roan, Justin Bradley & Davis
Bradley, and many well-loved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at
11 a.m. at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel. Friends
will have a chance to visit with the family from 10:15 a.m. until the time of the service as
well as after the service.
