Robert G. Stevenson, Sr.
Springfield- Robert Stevenson, 78, died Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Born in Detroit, MI, "Bob" as he was known to friends, was the oldest of three brothers. His mother, Nora, passed away while he was still a child from easy to cure (these days) yellow jaundice. Bob's father, Herman, in his grief, moved the family to Savannah, GA. Bob married Shirley and then joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly in the Philippines and Sacramento, CA. Bob enjoyed a good joke, dreamed big and loved his family. Placating a wife and raising a family is no easy feat. Over the years, Bob became a great salesman, company owner and grandchild admirer. He had a great positive attitude and could always figure a "way", no matter what life put in his path. That quality still lives with his survivors today, his sons, Robert G. Stevenson, Jr. and Michael W. Stevenson (Vicky) and his three grandchildren, Jason G. Stevenson, Brandon M. Stevenson, and Kristina N. Stevenson. Bob is also survived by his brother, David G. Stevenson.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the funeral home.
