Robert E. Sweat

Rincon – Robert E. Sweat, 79, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home after a long illness.

He was born on January 26, 1941 to Robert L. Sweat and Corrie L. Evans Sweat. He was married to Angela L. Sweat for nearly 60 years.

Robert was born and raised in Savannah, GA. He went to work at the age of 12 delivering groceries for Joe's Grocery. He worked for Georgia Mack Truck for several years and later retired from Robert's Truck Center after 35 years of service. He had also served in the National Guard during the 1960's.

He was an avid fan of drag racing, even working on pit crews. He also loved model trains, of which he had several set ups at his house, and cutting grass.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; brother, Jimmy Sweat; sister, Rebecca Sweat; and granddaughter, Whitney L. Revis.

He is survived by his son, D. Scott Sweat of Savannah; daughter, Beverly Revis (Keith) of Clearwater, SC; a grandson who was more like a son, Ethan Revis of Rincon; granddaughters, Corrie Sweat of Savannah and Amanda Revis of Warrenville, SC; great-granddaughter, Violet Revis; and left behind many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Graveside services will be 2 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
