Savannah-Mr. Robert Theodore (Teddy) Hawkins, 68, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Candler Hospital.
Teddy was born in Savannah, GA to the late Roy and Dollie Avery Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Curtis R. Hawkins, Jr. Teddy was a life-long resident of Chatham County and was co-owner of Hawkins Iron & Metal, and a crane operator by trade. He truly loved traveling, fishing, and boating with Judy and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Ann Smith Hawkins; sisters, Dorothy Richardson (Louis), Patricia Crutchfield, and Diane Morgan (Larry); sister-in-law, Maurene Tapley (Kenneth) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Saturday from 3 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the Silk Hope Baptist Church, Family Life Center Fund, 4929 Pineland Drive, Savannah, GA 31405 or to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
