Mr. Robert L. Yarbrough, 81, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Riverview Health & Rehabilitation.

He was born in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Lewis Wesley Yarbrough and Iva Lee Higgingbotham Yarbrough.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae "Major" Yarbrough, and a grandson, Timmy Moore.  He formerly attended Faulkville Baptist Church, and later attended Harvest Time Church in Savannah.  He retired from the Chatham Area Transit Authority, served as a fireman with the Effingham County Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Rogers, Laura Wilson (Danny), Robin Wallis, Christy Rought (Paul), Michael Yarbrough (Mary), and Brian Yarbrough (Ashley); twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  The memorial service to honor Robert's life will follow at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler, Georgia.  All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place, including the mandatory wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate).
