Ronald Earl Alford, 67, of Guyton Georgia passed away peacefully on July 9th after a long battle from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Ronald graduated from Groves High School in Garden City, Georgia in 1977. Ronald was born on January 8th, 1959, in Savannah Georgia. He retired from Barnet and Sons (previously The Herty Foundation) after over 25 years of employment. He was previously employed by Stone Container. Ronald was a hard and dedicated worker who worked his way up to a Supervisor position.
Ronald was a devoted member of Living Faith Church of God in Guyton, Georgia. He served on the pastor’s counsel and was part of the sound team. He enjoyed using his tractor to care for the grounds and doing hayrides for the kids at the fall festival. He loved God and was his family’s anchor in faith. He always encouraged his family to be followers of Christ and active in church.
Ronald was happiest spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was vacations, going shooting, fishing, four wheeling on the dirt roads in Tattnall County, or riding the golfcart around his neighborhood and at the annual Stand up for America Day festival in Port Wentworth. Ronald married his wife, Pamela, on August 30th 1980 and would have celebrated 46 years of marriage this year. He adored his girls, Brandy and Kaitlyn, while the apple of his eye was his granddaughter, Kendalynn.
Rather than sending flowers, those wishing to honor Ronald’s memory are invited to make a donation to Hospice House of Savannah.
Ronald will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever held in the heart of those who knew him.
Survivors include wife, Pamela Alford; daughters, Brandy McCarley (Charles), and Kaitlyn Hudson (Cliff); granddaughter, Kendalynn Faith Hudson; mother, Opal R. Alford; siblings, Donna Sue Norton (Gary); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his father, Earl Alford; and brother, Calvin David Alford; paternal grandparents, Calvin and Pearl Alford and maternal grandparents, Perry Jones and Annie Slater Jones.
