Ronald E. Dasher

Guyton – Ronald E. Dasher, 87, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Effingham Hospital.

The Effingham County native was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church for over 55 years, having served as a Deacon for more than 30 years. He retired from CSX Railroad in 1996 after 36 ½ years. Ronald also had worked for the Effingham County Board of Education at Sand Hill Elementary School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and loved his yard, family, and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ernestine Jackson Dasher; his children, Pam Townsend (Darrell), Ronnie Dasher (Christy), Darrell Dasher (Michelle Smeltzer), and Dwayne Dasher (Michelle); sister, Ella Ruth Forstrom; was known as "Papa" by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 pm Sunday, February 21, 2021 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 am Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sand Hill Baptist Church.

Interment: Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
