Ellabell-Mr. Ronald Henry Hargroves, 64, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Candler Hospital.

Ronald was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Hargroves. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pooler. He had been a fireman with the Pooler Fire Department and was previously employed as a surgical technician at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He served his country in the United States Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Hargroves; children, Nick Hargroves and Melissa Knabb; step-children, Brandie Degnan and Charles Powell; grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Jonathan, Jadon, Jenna, Lilly, Thomas and Nicky; mother, Edith Chester; six siblings and a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler, GA.

The service to honor Ronald will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Springfield Cemetery Annex with military honors.
