Guyton-Mr. Ronald Terry Thompson, 58, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Terry was born in Savannah to the late Claudine & Dorothy Barnwell Thompson. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from the ILA # 2046 after 20 years of service, former owner/operator of South Georgia Auto Parts, during that time he loved to drag race and still loved antique hot rods until the time of his death. He was employed with Crescent Towing as a Port Engineer. He was a member of the Guyton Masonic Lodge, a former member of the Effingham Shriners Club, the Propeller Club, and the Traffic Club.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Anne Thompson; son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Tara Thompson; daughter, Deana Thompson; grandchildren, Maliki, Zayden and Brianna; siblings, Lavon Thompson (deceased), Eddie Thompson (deceased) and Clayton Larry Thompson (deceased) and his wife, Marty Thompson, Neal & Amelia Thompson, Mack & Joyce Thompson, Martha Davis (her deceased husband, Orbie), Bobby & Linda Thompson, Diane Joyner (her deceased husband, James), Judy Brant, Tasha & Roger Evans as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
