Ronnie Houston Scruggs, 74, long-time resident of Bloomingdale, Georgia and more recently a resident of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 after a long illness. Ronnie will be missed by his three sons, Russell Lee Scruggs, Travis Allen Scruggs, and Charles Scruggs; grandchildren, Ashlee Scruggs, Susie Squires Capers, Carson Eversole, and Chase Eversole; step-grandchildren, Natalie Kelton and Steven Chancey; great-grandson, Lucas Capers; brothers, Randy Scruggs and Mark Scruggs; former wife, Sandra K. Smith Dowd. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Melva Brown Scruggs. Ronnie served his country in the United States Navy. Ronnie enjoyed riding his Harley, and hanging out with his close friends and family. He enjoyed going to Daytona Beach, Florida for biker events and to car shows, especially the Turkey Rod Run during Thanksgiving weekend. Daytona Beach was one of his favorite places to vacation at. He loved World War II planes, especially the P40 Warhawk and the P51 Mustang. He built a lot of remote control airplanes and loved to fly them up until his health began to worsen. He was a long-time resident of Bloomingdale, Georgia then moved to Tennessee, where his daughter-in-law, Samantha Kelton, was his primary caregiver until he had to move into a nursing home in Jefferson City, Tennessee where he spent that last year struggling with Diabetes, Dementia, and heart issues. The Lord decided that he did not need to suffer anymore. The visitation will be on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Ronnie's life will be on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Westside Memorial Gardens in Bloomingdale, Georgia.
