Rose M. Mell Mullis (Rosie) passed away on October 14, 2022 after a long battle with heart and lung issues.  Rose was born and raised in Savannah, GA.  She was a very loving and caring person.  She was known for her big heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.  Regardless of the situation she was in, she was always worried about everyone else.  She would give the shirt off of her back and the last dime she had to anyone who needed it.  She touched so many people's lives and hearts during her time here on earth.

She was the best mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to everyone.  You were family to her whether you were blood kin or not.  She loved the outdoors and especially being on the water.  But what she loved most of all was her family, that was everything to her.

Our hearts and lives will never be the same again without her.  But we are at peace knowing that she is pain free and with her mom again.  Until we meet again, fly high and rest in peace.  You will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clemmie and Mary Gillikin, her parents, Gerald Mell, Sr. and Mary Klees, and her brother, Malcolm (Lucky) Mell.  She is survived by her sister, Patricia Mell Schuman; brothers, Robert (Bucky) Mell, and Gerald Mell, Jr. (Smiley); a son, Corey Mullis; step-sons, Casey and Alton Mullis; nephew, Patrick Schuman, Jr. (Christia); a niece, Carla Hodge (Eric); great-nieces, Kayla Hodge and Madison Hodge, Destany Hartle; great-nephew, Patrick Schuman, Jr. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.
