Clyo – Roy Wayne Achtziger, Sr., 59, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Candler Hospital.

The Effingham County native was a member of Mizpah United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of A to Z Metalworks for the last 10 years. He had previously worked 13 years at Gulfstream and 20 years at Great Dane as a mechanical engineering technician. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Achtziger.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Dale Dubberly Achtziger; sons, Christopher Achtziger (Lauren), Grady Achtziger (Kristen), and Roy Achtziger; six grandchildren, Dylan, Alyssa, Callie, Logan, Emma, and Conner; father, Bob Achtziger; brothers, Carey Messex, Randy Achtziger, Robert Achtziger; sister, Tammy Daigle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 11am – 12 Noon Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mizpah United Methodist Church.

Funeral: 12 Noon Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mizpah United Methodist Church.

Interment: Mizpah United Methodist Church Cemetery
