Guyton – Roy L. Chance, 93, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Effingham Care Center.

The Screven County native was a retired painter with Painters International Local Union. He was a member of Guyton Masonic Lodge #428 and Rincon Baptist Temple. Roy loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Christie Chance.

Survivors include his children, R.L. Chance (Sandra Skipper) and Brenda Arnold (Donnie); grandchildren, Chris Chance (Melissa), Scott Arnold, Shawn Arnold (Heather), Kim Scott (Scotty), Lee Chance (Lindsay), Daniel Arnold (Madison), Alan Skipper, and Phil Skipper; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Kindle and Dena Billings (Russell); brothers, Levert Chance (Hilda), Walter Chance, Robert Chance (Deborah), Russell Chance (Helen); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 11:30 am – 12:45 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 1 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment: Effingham Memorial Gardens
