Roy Eugene Malphus

Springfield – Roy Eugene Malphus, 78, passed away October 29, 2019 at his residence.

The Effingham County native was a retired machine operator with Effingham County. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Missy Usher.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Malphus; daughter, Mindy Tebeau (Patrick); step-children, Brenda Coursey, Lynwood Edwards (Deborah), Mark Edwards (Patty); son-in-law, Tim Usher; grandchildren, Josh Usher (Taryn) and Jessica Nelson (Zack); great-grandchildren, Stetson Mase, Tenlee Usher, Cooper Nelson, and McKenna Nelson; 5 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday followed by funeral services at 12 noon in the chapel. Rev. Al Usher will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Bernard Hodges, Ashley Morgan, Travis Morgan, Neil Malphus, Zack Nelson, and Michael Edwards.

Interment will follow in Turkey Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
