Obituary
Bloomingdale-Mr. Roy L. Strickland, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at
Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Strickland was born in Hilliard, FL to the late Watson and Irene Strickland. He was
also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Strickland. He served his country and retired
from the United States Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sgt. E-9. He was a survivor of
Iwo Jima as well as the Korean War. Mr. Strickland also retired from Pan Am after 25
years of service.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Polly Strickland of Bloomingdale
and a sister, Edith Wilcox of Holly Hill, FL.
A graveside funeral will be held for family only at Florida Memorial Gardens.
