Obituary

Port Wentworth-Mr. Roy Taylor, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Savannah Specialty Care.
Mr. Roy was born in Lyons, GA and retired from Union Camp Corporation. He was active in the Alee Shriners Dune Cats, was a member of the Port Wentworth Lions Club, and served his country in the United States Army. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Kate Curry Taylor; sisters, Lucille Etheridge and Frances Freeman Farmer and brothers-in-law, Charlie Hinson and Clifford B. Johnson, Sr..
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hinson Taylor; sisters-in-law, Frances H. Johnson and Pearl Riggs, both of Statesboro; nieces and nephews, Tony & Jo Ella Hinson, Don & Miriam Love, Vicky & Kenny Click, Kirk & Patti Johnson, Sandra Johnson, Brenda J. Clemmons, Tom Fields and James Freeman as well as a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation: 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home.
Graveside Funeral and Burial: 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery located at 1783 Ernest Webber Road in Lyons, GA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Alee Shrine Temple – Dune Cats – 100 Eisenberg Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
The family would like to thank the staff at Savannah Specialty Care for the care given to Mr. Taylor.
