Ruby Morel Calloway

Sylvania – Ruby Morel Calloway, 89, went to be with the Lord February 20, 2018 at East GA Regional.

The Effingham County native was a member of Middle Ground Baptist Church and she retired from Warners as a seamstress. Her devotion to her family and her belief in the Lord gave her peace.  She got her biggest joy from doing for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Annie Morel; husband, Ambrose Calloway; and granddaughter, Lisa Thomas.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann Poythress (Warren) and Judy Exley (Darwin); grandchildren, Christin Owens (Duane), Pamela Stokes (Stephen), Jared Exley (Samantha), Brittany Joyner (Adam); great-grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, Matthew, and Madison Thomas, Delaney and Kayla Odom, Devin, Carli, and Dallas Owens, Emma and Cathryn Stokes, Bryson and Mason Joyner, and Avery Grace Exley; 1 great-great-grandson, Colton Odom; and nieces.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Middle Ground Baptist Church in Sylvania, GA. Mrs. Calloway will lie in state from 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church.
