Mrs. Ruby Polk Nichols of Eden, Georgia, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord, on May 9, 2022.
She was born in McRae, Georgia on September 5, 1932 to Charlie and Rachel Polk. She was preceded in death by husbands, John Sparks and Stephen Nichols, and children, Janice Fetty and Sandra Porter.
Surviving are her children, Ricky (Brenda) Sparks, Brenda (Mike) Mack, and Stephen (Kim) Sparks; sons-in-law, Bobby Fetty and Wayne Porter; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Ruby lived most of her life in or near Savannah, Georgia where she raised her family. She was a devout Christian and loved studying God's word. She was a member of Bloomingdale Fellowship Church.
The graveside funeral and burial to honor Ruby's life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1 until 2 p.m. The cemetery is located at 315 Greenwich Road in Savannah, Georgia.
