Pooler-Mrs. Ruby E. Orr, 70, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Glen VanDevender and Mrs. Natalie Francis Downey VanDevender. She was a member of South Newington Baptist Church, a pianist, and enjoyed baking. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Orr; her children and grandchildren, Monteen & Eddie Wampler (Tasha), Mark & Sonja Wightman (Mariah & Lauren), Kathy Henderson (Tyler), Robert E. & Brenda Orr (Jacob & Caleb), Kristy & Tim Lawson (Brendon, Jeremy, Kaylee & Kyle); brothers and sisters, Glenn VanDevender, Jr., Donnie VanDevender, Lottie Wheeler, Dorothy Jeffries, Bessie Johnson, and Betty Blakenship; 17 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the funeral home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery on Little Neck Road.
