Ruby L. Smiley passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruby lived a life full of confidence and passion. She loved throwing darts, which led to winning a championship, watching Nascar and her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt. She had a love for dancing, animals and always enjoyed her trips to Helen with her best friend, Sandy Giles. Ruby's pride and joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruby is predeceased by her husband, Edward Ray Smiley, Sr.; children, Danny Knauss, Lamar Knauss and Roger Allen White; parents, Effert Lamb Bowen and Melvina Mae Bowen; and brothers, Aldon Bowen and Angelo Bowen.

She is survived by her children, Lawanna White Land (Chuck), Melissa "Missy" White Schneider (Tim); sister, Sylvia Bowen Drass; grandchildren; Jade Carpenter (Josh), Käri Stewart (Anthony), and David Schneider (Katie); and her great grandchildren, Caleb, Evvie, Ophelia, Davian, Kadance, Kasper, Dahlia and expecting the arrival of Oliver soon.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
