Black Creek-Mr. Rufus H. Bragg, Sr., 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Bragg was born in Savannah to the late Lewis & Eva Bragg. He was a member of Bloomingdale Alliance Church and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from CSX Railroad in 1986 after 41 ½ years of service. He enjoyed playing golf and camping with family and friends. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca "Reba" Curl Bragg; children, Debbie Bragg Shuman and David and Rufus H. Bragg, Jr. and Kim; granddaughter, Robin Bragg Mock and Jason; grandsons, Davey Shuman and Melissa, Ryan Shuman and Kristy and Robbie Shuman; great-grandsons, Ryan Shuman, II, Grant Shuman and Mason Mock and a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Bragg's life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ken Otto and Rev. Donald Hand officiating. Pallbearers will be Davey Shuman, Ryan Shuman, Robbie Shuman, Jason Mock, Louis Bragg and Ricky Sandefur. Joe Ortiz will provide the music. Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke with military honors.
