Guyton – Ruthie "Jody" Leggett, 79, passed away December 8, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

The Candler County native was a retired truck driver, that loved Westerns, going to Chik-fil-a, her dogs, spending time with her granddaughters and her great-grandson, Karter.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Leggett Shuman (Redmond) and James Calvin Leggett, Jr.; a stepson, Timothy Todd Leggett (Betsy); granddaughters, Brittany Jem Shuman and Bailie Jade Jenkins (Cameron); a great-grandson, Karter Banks Shuman; two sisters, Dorothy Williams and Shirley Nettles; and brother, James Bryant, Jr.

Services will be private.
