Sammy Hall "Sambo" Roddenberry
Rincon – Sammy Hall "Sambo" Roddenberry, 77, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his residence.
The Denton, GA native retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was a charter member of The Baptist Church at Ebenezer, was a member of Springfield Masonic Lodge, #440 F. & A.M., and was a charter member of Marine Rescue Squadron 4-A.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Louise Hall Roddenberry; special uncle and aunt, Med and Vera Hall; Ralph and Mamie Lou Evans; Russell "Rusty" Evans.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jean Evans Roddenberry; sons, Todd Roddenberry, Michael Roddenberry (Harriett), Brian Roddenberry (Amy); grandchildren, Rusty (Kristyn), Lucas, Jason, Justin, and Whitney; great-grandchildren, Evans (Allie), Payton, and Jayden; sisters, Mary Ann Morgan (Willie George), Laverne Harari (Claude); Bob Evans; nephews; and many, many friends.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Screven Memorial Park followed by graveside funeral services at 11 a.m.
Everyone attending is asked to dress casual.
Remembrances may be given to The Baptist Church at Ebenezer Building Fund, 2401 Ebenezer Road, Rincon, GA 31326 or charity of your choice.
