Obituary

Guyton - Sara Hadden Hahn, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 peacefully at home.

The Savannah native was a devoted wife and mother and had lived in Savannah until relocating to Guyton in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Hadden and Susie Mae Walden Hadden; and her sister, Sandra Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald Gene Hahn; her seven children, Susan Page (Freddie), Linda Dunlap (Lynn), Renee Pullin (Hogan), Donald Hahn, Jr. (Beth), Sara Lovezzola (Steven), Elizabeth Tramell (Mark), and Sandra Starling (Scott); 17 grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Sills and a brother Benjamin Hadden (Joy).

Sara was the epitome of a Southern lady and also the virtuous woman spoken of in the book of Proverbs…where her children rise up and call her blessed. She loved with an immeasurable, unselfish love…always thinking of others first.

She loved the Lord and served faithfully for many years, teaching, singing, doing mission work and playing the piano. Her strong Christian example was an influence to many. Sara was genuine and lived out the character of Christ by always exemplifying love, gentleness, kindness, humility and long-suffering, and beneath these attributes rested an unwavering strength and hope. She had no greater desire than for her children to know and serve the Lord.

Sara believed there was no greater calling than to be a Godly wife and mother. She fulfilled those roles with great purpose and passion. Being a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook and an immaculate keeper of her home, if a job needed to be done, it must always be done well.

Until her last few months when her health issues would just not allow, the word "idleness" did not exist in her vocabulary. She taught her children well. The broken hearts of those she leaves behind will be filled with beautiful, precious memories, for she truly left an endless legacy of love.
