Shelton Ray McKeever, 78 years old, of Springfield, Ga died August 19 at Memorial Hospital,surrounded by his family.
Shelton was born in Franklin, West Virginia the son of the late Ray and Hazel (White) McKeever .
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Harwell McKeever, two brothers, Marion (Brenda) McKeever, and Wayne (Tammy) McKeever and one sister, Eleanora Karnes, four sons, Michael (Paula) McKeever , Marc McKeever Scott (Stephanie) McKeever and Gregory (Andi) McKeever one daughter, Lisa McKeever, a step-daughter, Chris (Randy) Wise, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was a long time member of the Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, Georgia until he moved to Springfield, GA in February, 2015 and became a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and served as the Grand Knight and later the Faithful Navigator for the Fourth Degree. Shelton graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, West Virginia then attended the University of West Virginia, where he earned a Hydraulics Engineering degree. He later worked for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for 40 years before retirement.
A mass will be held at St Boniface Catholic Church on Sunday, August 23 at 3:00 p.m.
