Mrs. Shelvy J. Smith, 79, of Richmond Hill, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born in Bulloch County to the late Ezaon and Zola Wilson Parrish.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sue Long "Red", sisters, Lavon Hewitt of Savannah, and Janice Griffin of Bloomingdale, and her brother, Randy Parrish of Savannah.  She was a Baptist and a homemaker.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her son, Marvin Eugene Smith, Jr. of Guyton; her daughter, Patricia E. Counts of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jason Smith, Jesse Long, Jonathan Long, Angela Taylor, Michelle Smith, David Walter Counts, III and Jessica Counts; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Camellia Henry and Sandra Vickers, both of Savannah, Sharon Perry of Richmond Hill, Angela Foster of Brooklet and Patty Parrish of Rincon, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will have a private graveside funeral and burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
