Shirley Ann Kent McCoy

Rincon – Shirley Ann Kent McCoy, 86, passed away February 8, 2026.

The Berrien County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and retired from Effingham County Board of Education as a Elementary and Middle School Teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.A. Kent and Pauline Sirmons Kent; husband, C. Olan McCoy; daughters, Shai Jones and Shawn McCorkendale; siblings, Gail Folson, Jacqueline Futch, Elva K. Shaw, Wendell Kent, and Gene Kent.

Survivors include her sons, Jody McCoy and Jimmy McCoy; grandchildren, Amber Jones Snooks (Ben), Austin Jones (Shania), and Dallas McCorkendale; great-grandchildren, Julie Snooks, Madelyn Snooks, Byron Jones, and Irma Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
