Garden City-Mrs. Shirley Sue Newman, 63, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at
her home.

Mrs. Newman was born in Savannah to the late Louie C. & Virginia Mann Atterberry.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John K. Newman, Jr. She was a member
of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She
retired from St. Joseph's Hospital where she was an LPN and was the former
owner/operator of Videorama.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Sue Tyson of Garden City; granddaughters,
Kaitlyn Fields of Garden City and Harley Tyson of Port Wentworth; step-sons, Johnny
and Steve Newman, both of Richmond Hill; six step-grandchildren and a number of
step-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Cobb of Savannah; brother, Buddy (Ann)
Atterberry of Savannah; step-brother, Perry (Gina) Mincey of Rincon; aunt Carolyn Mann
of Garden City; nephews and nieces, Jimmy Cobb, Jr. of Pooler, Jeffrey Cobb of
Jefferson, GA, Abbey Strub of Savannah, Lisa Watson of St. Augustine, FL and Amy
Atterberry of Melbourne, FL.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home. The
family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
