Springfield – Shirley Griffis Shearouse, 86, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday evening, October 11, surrounded by her family members and her husband and soulmate of 62 years, Carson.

The Appling County native was a longtime member of Life Springs Worship Center. Shirley loved her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Walker Shearouse and her great-grandson, Trey Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Carson Shearouse; children, Eddie Branan (Linda), Cathy Lanigan (Billy), Cheryl Shearouse Brown (Pastor Tim) and Jeremy Shearouse (Erica); 7 grandchildren, one of which lives with Shirley and Carson and has for several years, Kasey Branan; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lamar Griffis (Dot); a sister, Aloise Dowd (Glen); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 1-2 pm Friday, October 14, 2022 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 pm Friday, October 14, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Julie Stanley Mack and Pastor Tim Brown officiating.

Interment: Springfield Cemetery Annex
