Mrs. Shirley Taylor, 89, of Brunswick, Georgia and formerly of Savannah, Georgia, fell asleep and went to be with Jesus on the morning of Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Floyd Eugene Taylor, her parents, Gordon Blalock and Ada Sapp Blalock, as well as her nine siblings. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and flowers. She is remembered as loving and faithful, always standing by her family. She gave a lifetime of uncomplicated love and was always a safe place to land for her family, full of hugs, encouragement, and pride. She was litigious at times, terrible at crosswords, could hold a grudge, and could destroy you at Dr. Mario. She was full of love and faith and will be missed.
Survivors include her children, David Taylor (Ann), Cindy Favata (Ted), and Bert Taylor (Mary); grandchildren, Keith Hudson, Emily Overholser, Chris Taylor, Amy Swartz, and Jennifer Kelly; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Shirley's life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg, Road, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15239 or umdf.org
