Mrs. Sonja Gibbs Douglas, 68, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on her birthday, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her home.

Sonja was born in Savannah to the late Gordie "Buddy" Gibbs and Elizabeth "Betty" Myrick Gibbs.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Landen Newman, and a brother, Bruce Gibbs.  She was a homemaker and loved plants and animals, but her grandchildren were her life.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Douglas; children, Jarrett Gibbons, Tasha Archer, and Nicole Newman; grandchildren, Sawyer, Reese, Emma, Jake, Adalyn, Canyon, Waylon, and Josh; siblings, Patricia "Tinker" Zettler, Kay Gibbs, and Gordie Gibbs, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home – WEST CHATHAM CHAPEL – 901 West Highway 80 – Pooler, Georgia
