MURFREESBORO, TN: SSGT James A. Googe, USAF ret., died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at age 83.
He was born May 28, 1926 in Surrency, GA. The son of the late B. Oscar Googe and Enzie Carter Googe, he is preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marita Googe; daughters, Margarita and Julia; son, Wayne; grandchildren, Callie and Natalie; sisters, Winifred Lewis, Annette Slayton, and Colleen Glanz; brother, Willard (Janet) Googe; sisters-in-law, Juanita and Wilma Googe and godson, Chriss.
Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with entombment to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
