Obituary

Rincon – Steve H. Spence, 74, passed away June 12, 2021 at his residence.

The Tattnall county native retired from General Dynamics and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon where he and his wife of 56 years served faithfully since moving to Rincon in 1975.  Steve answered the call to serve his Lord with a special love for youth ministry.  He touched many lives as he drove the church bus, ministered as a deacon, worked in youth ministry, served in children's church, and taught Sunday School.

Steve loved spending time with his grandchildren and was often seen not only at their athletic events and activities but also at ballgames and activities of his special friends.

Steve will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.  He shared God's unconditional love with everyone that crossed his path.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary King Spence; brother, Roger Spence; sister, Linda Ray McBride; and sister-in-law, Mildred Spence.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Spence; son, Stevie (Lynn) Spence; daughter, Tami Houston (Kyle); grandchildren, Megan Hudson (Tyler), Spencer Houston (Abie), and Peyton Houston; brother, Larry Spence; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rincon followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Rincon Cemetery.

Remembrances may be given to First Baptist Church of Rincon Youth Department, 201 E. 6 th Street, Rincon, GA 31326.
