Guyton-Susan Lynn Fitzgerald Parker, 57, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Susan enjoyed a long career in the transportation industry from which she retired due to a recurrence of breast cancer. Her personality was strong and her heart was big, not only for people, but for animals too. She had an enormous love for her family and friends and was happiest cooking for and entertaining them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and was always grateful for the love she received from everyone.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Edward and Lavinia Fitzgerald and her much loved companion for years, Junior, her dog.
Surviving Susan are beloved husband of 30 years, Gary Parker; sisters, Colleen (Bill) Henry, Peggy (Troy) Waters; brother, Edward (Mary) Fitzgerald; daughters, Adrienne Buck and Jenny Moore; sons, James E. Moore, Jr. and fiance', Amanda Armenta, Ashley Parker and fiance', Kelli Sibilio, and Albert Parker, and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Also surviving are her grandchildren, James, Jenna, Parker, Kirra, Gavin, Lanee Grace, and Harlee.
The memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home in Pooler, GA with the Monsignor James P. Costigan, Celebrant, officiating. Her ashes will be interred at a later date.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Josh McKenzie, Dr. Mark Taylor, Krista Alifi, her patient navigator, Spanish Oaks Hospice and special friend and caregiver, Jennifer Kirbry.
