Springfield - Susan McCorkle Langford, 74, passed away on May 16, 2025, at the Oaks at Pooler.

A native of Chatham County, Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Atwell McCorkle, Sr. and Doris Marie Hodges McCorkle.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Langford; her daughter, Laurie Coombe (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Jesse Coombe and Jaime Coombe (Ross); sisters, Harriet Liebfried and Teresa Durden (Dee); brother, Charles Atwell McCorkle, Jr. (Dot); brother-in-law, Daniel Langford; and several nieces and nephews.

Susan worked as a business manager, accounting manager and comptroller for several car dealerships.  She was self-taught, intelligent and especially gifted with numbers, a talent she proudly attributed to her father.

She enjoyed playing golf, listening to shag music, and never missed a chance to dance.

The family extends sincere thanks to Kelly and the team at Regency SouthernCare Hospice for their compassionate care.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regency SouthernCare Hospice or The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD).

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. in the chapel.
