Rincon – Mrs. Susan H. Powell, 59, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at her residence in Rincon surrounded by family.
Mrs. Powell was born in Abilene, Texas. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Powell was an educator in the Chatham County School System since 2000 and loved her students.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tommy Powell; son and daughter in love, Thomas and Lauren Powell; daughter and son in love, Kate and Kane McKinney; grandchildren, Violet Powell and Joel Thomas McKinney; sister, Dewilla Hooper; brothers, William and Dewey Hooper; nieces, Rachel Watford, Rebecca Hooper, Lauren Hooper, and Julia Hooper; nephews, Adam Hedgecoth, John William Hooper, and Dewey Hooper; great nieces, Dora and Ruby Watford; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
