Mr. Sydney M. Williams, 79, of Pembroke, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Hospice Savannah.

Sydney was born in Savannah, Georgia and had lived in Pembroke for the past 53 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sefton Williams and Elizabeth Williams, sister Laura Hefner, brother Gary Williams, step-mother Lillian Jefferson, and step-father Friend Hoar.  He was a born again Christian and attended Christ Baptist Church as well as the Brotherhood Breakfast.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from the IBEW Local Union 508.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting, and fishing.  He will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, son, uncle and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lois Jean Williams; sons, Randall Williams (Lea) and Sefton Williams (Marion); Foster children, Christopher Crawford (Pam) and Elizabeth Tacy (Jack); grandson, Colby Crawford, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler, Georgia.

The graveside funeral and burial will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery located on Route 865 in Weyers Cave, Virginia.  Sydney's son, Randall Williams will be officiating.
