Portal-Tammy Jacqueline Stewart, 46, departed this life on September 29th at the Statesboro East Georgia Regional Hospital. Tammy was never a quitter. She fought cancer for nine years. She always believed for healing and kept fighting to the end. She is now forever healed.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Robert T. Kern; father, Jack B. Kern; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Beasley and stepfather, Joe H. Robinson.

Tammy was the loving wife of Richard A. Stewart of 29 years. The mother of two sons and a daughter, as well as a proud grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Richard A Stewart, Sr.; sons, Richard A. (Kristi) Stewart, Jr., Robert A. (Kristi) Stewart; daughter, Shelby A. (Troy) McClellan; grandson, Colton A. Stewart all of Portal. Mother, Audrey Robinson of Bloomingdale; brother, William Allen of Brunswick; two sisters, Melanie Bell of Hinesville and Melissa Allen of Bloomingdale and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
