Ted M. Boyd, 84, died peacefully at his home in Garden City, Georgia on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

He was born in Bulloch County to the late V.M. and Alma Boyd on April 17, 1937.  In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his oldest son, Samuel "Sonny" Boyd, and a grandson, Zachary Boyd.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lajuan Boyd, two sons, Tony Boyd (Kelly) and Teddy Boyd (Buffi), a daughter, Tisha Kreyenbuhl (Jamie), a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Boyd, seven grandchildren, Brad Boyd (Kate), Taylor Foster (Ben), Kyle Boyd, Jacob Boyd (Jen), Ashton Boyd, Zoe Kreyenbuhl and Zan Kreyenbuhl, one great-granddaughter, Emma Boyd, two sisters, Becky Burnsed (Jimmy) and Vicky Willard, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ted graduated from Savannah High School in 1957.  He retired from the Savannah Sugar Refinery in 1997 after working there for 40 years.  When he was not working, Ted loved cooking, sports, and spending time with his family.  He served as a Commissioner with the Garden City Recreation Department for a number of years and coached a large number of local youth.  He was a lifelong member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a dedicated asset to his church family.

A memorial service will be held for Ted in the Woodlawn Baptist Church sanctuary on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12 noon.  The family will receive visitors preceding the service beginning at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 407 Talmadge Avenue, Garden City, GA  31408.
