Obituary

Terry "Lee" Wilkes, Jr., age 49, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family - just two days shy of his 50th birthday.

Born on November 3, 1975, and raised in Savannah, Lee was the son of Marcia and Terry Wilkes.  He worked many years in the family business, Wilkes Body Shop, Inc.  Known for his creativity and craftsmanship, Lee had a deep passion for art, music, and spending time with great friends.  He was truly the friendliest fella you could ever meet - always quick with a smile, a laugh, and a helping hand.

Lee ultimately succumbed to complications from diabetes and pneumonia, following a long and courageous health fight stemming from a car accident that occurred exactly nine years earlier to the day.  Through it all, his strength, humor, and kind spirit continued to shine, leaving an example of resilience and grace that will forever inspire those who loved him.

He is survived by his beloved son, Terry Lee Wilkes III (Kaitlyn); his parents, Marcia and Terry Wilkes; his sister, Niki Wilkes Perry (Ernie); his brother, Greg Wilkes (Melody); nephews Stephen Wilkes (Emily), Seth Wilkes (Riley), and Sean Wilkes; niece Avery Evans; great-niece Millie; his loyal dog and constant companion, Bailey; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A family and friends memorial visitation service will be held to celebrate Lee's life and the love he shared with those around him on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a special word to be shared by his brother Greg Wilkes, at approximately 6:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lee's honor to Silk Hope Baptist Church Clothes Closet, 4929 Pineland Drive, Savannah, GA.

Lee was a man of faith in Jesus Christ, and his family takes comfort knowing that he is now home with our Heavenly Father - whole, at peace, and surrounded by eternal love.

May his gentle soul rest in peace, and may the love he gave so freely continue to live on in all who knew him.
