Obituary

Rincon, Thelma Lee Bennett passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022.

Thelma was born in Screven, Georgia and worked 49 years at Savannah Sugar/Dixie Crystal as an executive secretary.

Thelma was a member of the Calvary Baptist Temple.  She joined the church on January 31, 1982, by statement from another church.  She was active as a Sunday School teacher, Women's Missionary Union as well as many other ministries, including Senior Adult Craft Class in her later years.  She was extremely active and involved until her recent illness.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Bennett and two sisters, Betty Smith and Ruth Fields.

Survivors include three brothers, Donald (Glenda) Bennett, Rev. Mikell (Karen) Bennett and Charles Bennett; sister, Janice (Jimmy) Helmey; nieces, Jamie Willoughby, Candi English, and Kimberly Bennett; nephews, Billy Fields and Kevin Bennett and many cousins.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral home with the funeral following in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
