Thelma M. Kersey Pierce

Register – Thelma M. Kersey Pierce, 84, passed away August 24, 2026 at her residence.

The Tattnall County native was previously employed with Claxton Manufacturing, Big Red’s Fruit Stand, Pizza Hut in Statesboro, and Movsovitz. She was a longtime resident of Springfield before moving to Register in 2025. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield, enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and other organizations, and was a member of the American Legion Post @209 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Ervin Kersey and Maddie Lou McCollough Kersey; 1st husband, Perry Mixon; daughter, Pamela Cribb; 2nd husband, Tommy Pierce; siblings, Bennie Kersey, Shirley Kersey, Carson Kersey, and Carolyn Kersey.

Survivors include her daughter, Deloris Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Brandy Hollingsworth (Thomas Cowart), Heather Anderson (Tory), and Emily Cribb; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several foster great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Donnie Thompson and Joannie Joyner; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2026 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
