Springfield - Theresa Kleinsteuber Zipperer, 94, died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Memorial Health.
The Savannah native was a thoughtful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Savannah until moving to Springfield in 1948. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir over 50 years. She was a member of the Springfield Garden Club and the Retired Teacher's Association. She retired as the Effingham County Librarian and was affectionately known as the "Bookmobile Lady".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max E. Kleinsteuber and Emma Heiss Kleinsteuber; brothers, Carl G. Kleinsteuber, Max E. Kleinsteuber, Jr.; sisters, Elsie K. Allison, Betty Kleinsteuber; half-brother, Walter Kleinsteuber.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Andrew Jackson Zipperer of Springfield; 2 daughters, Betty Symonds and Theresa Z. Butler both of Springfield; 2 sons, Rev. A. Jackson "Jack" Zipperer, Jr. (Dimples) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Carl Zipperer (Celeste) of Guyton; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Anne K. Leon of Savannah; brother, Herman H. Kleinsteuber of Savannah; brother-in-laws, James E. Allison of Louisville, KY, Micheal E. Kuric of Florida; sisters-in-law, Eugenia Zipperer of Panama, and Ruby Zipperer of Nashville, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East in Savannah.
