Obituary

Pooler-Mr. Theron Travis Nichols, 86, died on Friday, March 5, 2010.

Travis was born and raised in Bulloch County. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 prior to
the start of World War II, and served as a Boiler Tender on the USS North Carolina until
the end of the War in September 1945. He retired from Kaiser Agricultural Chemical
Corporation in 1984. He was an active member and leader of Trinity United Methodist
Church in Pooler, and served several years on the City Council. He was elected Mayor of
Pooler in 1978 and served six years as Mayor.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eunice Inez Nichols in 2002. He is
survived by his son Ronald Nichols and his wife Donna, his son Tom Nichols and his
wife, JoAnn, in addition to six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.

The visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to
follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
